power cables have arrived so......
Would anyone recommend carbon copy cloner to make the switch to a Sata Drive?
Also once I've cloned the existing HD how do I go about telling the PPC that I want to use the Sata drive as boot drive? is it the startup page in system preferences?

For startup disk just click on system preferences and click on "Startup Disk" shown circled below. Just select the disk you want to boot from and select restart.

Just fitted my 2 new Sata cards and booted her up only to receive a Kernal panic.
I had noticed that there was a ticking sound coming from the unit when I reconnected it to the power supply this afternoon. Could it just be a busted HD?
Any sound certainly wouldn't be from the SATA cards. A "ticking" sound must be either a drive or fan.
EDIT: Also try emailing FirmTek's support. I have used it via email in the past and they are very good and usually email back within 10-15 min. This (http://www.firmtek.com/support/) is the URL. The first contact with them is via the site and it's all email after that.
BTW.. the Sonnet card you bought is exactly the same as a 1S2 FirmTek model so you can contact them about both. Just say it's a 1S2 as it is anyway. FirmTek makes the Sonnet SATA cards as I said earlier.
Too bad you can't boot to see what firmware you have. Boot from a PATA drive with the cards in and look in system profiler. An MDD should be using the newest firmware.

Wow just completed my first bigadv for an unbelievable 70,046 points. I can't even run fah all the time either, otherwise it would have been even higher (it causes a rubber banding effect in some games where they battle for cpu cycles).

I've owned my SB (2011) MBP for over a month now. I have yet to use the Thunderbolt port and wished many times that it had USB3.0 support. Are there any Thunderbolt adapters available on the market yet? TB to USB 3.0 would be great. Alternatively a docking station would be cool. Anything besides the one LaCie drive?

Great news for Apple as far as iOS implementation but comparing including iPod touch doesn't really seem like a fair comparison since Android isn't on any PMP devices.
So as it stands, correct me if I'm wrong, but:
1. Mobile PHONES, Android > iOS
2. Include tablets and PMP iOS > Android by a good margin

Apple shouldn't be able to do anything.
Apple cannot do anything directly against TJ Maxx as long as they make no false claims such as being an approved Apple seller, or stating false claims about the product and warranty. At most, put them on a banned list and make not selling to TJ Maxx part of their "Approved Reseller" conditions.
The people who sold to TJ Maxx could be in trouble, however.
Now, if Apple's warranty includes a line about it must be bought from an approved seller, etc, they might be able null the warranty on anyone who's iPad is found to be from TJ Maxx, but that depends in part on the state, and if the warranty has such a line.

Haha someone actually remembers me! (*feels loved*:o) but the wallpaper is 1280x800 since I could only find a album cover the size of around 1400pixels.
I've included that too if your monitor isn't 16:10 or something (The cover art is 1425, if you stretch it to 1440 it shouldn't look that much worse at all).

I thought I read somewhere on this forum, that these models can work just fine with only 1 processor installed....so this got me thinking -- if you only install 1 processor, then you could go with a generic LGA1366 i7 even though it only has a single QPI link. Is this right, or am I wrong?
