For once, I like what Grassley is doing.
Not all L1 is bad
Not all H1B is bad
Not all consulting companies are bad
So why are we behaving like crabs?
Think from a perspecive of a legit L1 visa holder too
To anti Immigrants even your greencard is bad.
He will be happy if your greencard is made painful
Will you rejoice then?
What Sen is doing is looking at everything in black and white. He is making all L1 as bad. He shoud be suggesting fixes in L1 like giving more power to L1s to complain and protecting them if they complain. he should be making punishment tougher for fraud. But he is targetting the whole via and you are feeling happy about it. Just because you are not an L1 visa holder some of us are happy. Tommow if he does it to all EAD holders will you be happy?

My date is also not Current(Eb3 2006 ) got RFE today requesting The TB test. Think they opened the case and working. :)

I have questions on the facts of your case, you say that a recruiter signed a contract on your behalf?, how is that possible?, the contract would then be between the recruiter and your employer, unless you signed a separate contract with the recruiter agreeing to certain terms and conditions, also it is not clear if your recruiter is in the US or in Phillipines, many other aspects are not very clear. Therefore i gave you a general response as to what happens in these situations, if you need a more specific response to your questions, i suggest that you consult an attorney over the phone or in person, it would make more sense to look at the contract in question and then give you advice on your problem.

I am sorry, but as far as I have known IV, IV has never exclusively or inclusively worked on student OPT/H1, but it is a coincidence that increase in student OPT might be a fallout of some of IV's actions. I dont see any point of asking students to join IV solely on this basis (OPT or H1 increase). Though, having graduated as a student in US, I totally agree to the point of asking students to join stating that GC is the final step in achieving their American Dream, where IV can make considerable impact.
I think the administrators should particulary keep a close watch on such posts related to OPT/H1 issues. These posts might be incorrectly interpreted and lead to deviatons from IV's cores agenda issues as well as division of resources. Unless, IV administrators are seriously thinking of changing their ideology and are willing to walk this path.
Nevertheless, I will keep on supporting IV with all my possible efforts. Cheers and Go IV!

All I said was that I was a green card applicant, showed them my I-485 application receipt, and got a license valid for 4 years.
Smooth. What a surprise.
Hey - can you please tell me where you applied for the 4 yr DL. I have always got my DL extended only till I-94 expiry or of late - till my EAD expiry. I renew my DL in Columbus. Can you please share your experience as to where you got your DL renewed?

Swamy - (with due respect to IV who i totally support in every which way!) but what have u done other than joining a state chapter, contributing $$ to IV and holding signs at the DC rally.?? Is this what ur life has come to now..?? Only to motivate people to join IV..?? How long do u plan on conitnuing to do this.?? Wake up buddy..!! Yes we are stuck in this mess now having filed for AOS and the indefinite future wait for cases to be approved..!! There is no doubt about that.
But somebody like dyekek12 who seems to be new to the immigration world - whats the harm in sharing with him options that maybe more practical for him 3-5 years from now.! I recently renewed our passports at Indian Embassy, Washington D.C . I sent 2"X2" size photographs and there was no problem in passport renewal.
How long did it take for you to renew the passport. My appointment date is on Apr 03 and they received my documents on March 31st. I did not get the passport yet. Do you have a number to call them. I called all the numbers listed on the website and no one answers.

Thank you for all your support. Quick update. Our video now has 1439 viewings, 132 ratings and 38 comments (as at 4:15pm EDT 7/9). This has resulted in us having the #32 top rated video of the week in News and Politics. Your support has been wonderful and thank you for your positive comments.
We have looked at a large number of the other videos in the competition and we certainly have a much higher rating and viewings than any of the videos other than the ones posted in the first week of the competition. Sadly we dont want to monitor them as every time we check their score it rates as another viewing for them :p
We remain hopeful that our moderate position on a difficult topic may give us an edge but who knows. My son is dying to pose a supplementary to the video question about the byzantine process we all have to endure.

Sathyaraj ur talking abt selecting a different top 20 almost on each request. Unless you have a decently powerful system, this can be pretty taxing on the DB. Now this also depends on which column ur sorting on.

I recently visited India in June 07. I didn't wanna go and waste a couple of dayz in chennai so wanted to use ma AP. While returnin I showed ma PP to the Immigration officer, he asked me where ma VISA was. I told him i have an AP and showed it to him.. He wasn't surprized. he just let me get in after stampin a seal on my PP.
At Germany (coz i flew via lufthansa) the lady asked my VISA again. I showed her my AP... she suddenly understood and asked me if i had applied for a GC. I said yes.. she signed a form and let me check in at the counter.
Its so simple no problem at all.

OT.. So are you working on H1 now for the same employer? Just wanted to make sure you can use AP to travel and work on H1 and don't have to use EAD.

Meanwhile, I was wondering if it expires due to (assume) my neglect... does that create issues or can I apply at a later date... this is just in case I forget !! Sorry !!
you are apply later but you can't work if you don't have EAD. Normally it is good to renew EAD so that it doesn't raise any flag. Hope this helps.
