hi there! but what if mine's rcpt date is july 21? the last processing time was July 30, 2007??? my friend who has a rcpt date of July 19 got her gc already. Do you think they already finished processing the cases from July 20-July 30?? cause its been a month and they should finish it before they moved back because it's just 10 freakin days! right? last january 2008 they processed from april 2007-June 19 (my friend had hers already).. im so upset

How USCIS works is not worth discussing...u can never get an answer from them even if u sue them.
I know of people who got GC in 2001 in 6 months (from india) while my labor took forever...who can explain that (same state, same Company)....its just not worth the headache.....at th eend of it all its still a lottery

You can get an extension using A's 140 only if it was not revoked.
Perm.. I was exactly in the same boat as u were but I went ahead and changed the job from company A to company B and got 3 year extension till 10/09. Then I went to India and got the visa stamped till 10/09. My new employer i.e. company B has now started processing my GC again.. Now, let us see if I can port my PD of 12/05 with company B.
My question is if I decide to move again to company C [Not gonna do] or my new employer i.e. company B fires me [U never know] i.e. in case if I do not have labor or 140 done with my new employer i.e. company B and say I ran out of H1B at the end of 10/09, then can I get further 3 year extension with company B or new company C on approved 140 from previous employer i.e. Company A?

How long does it take to get EAD card by post after Finger printing is done?
I don't think both are related. Folks are getting EADs along with FP notices or receipts at TSC. Its just that NSC is slooow.

There is a add on Sulekha which says u can apply Canadian Citizenship if u are on H1/F1/L1 and u need not move to Canada and stay and work in US. Has someone tried this or have any comments on this idea ?

I am sorry, but as far as I have known IV, IV has never exclusively or inclusively worked on student OPT/H1, but it is a coincidence that increase in student OPT might be a fallout of some of IV's actions. I dont see any point of asking students to join IV solely on this basis (OPT or H1 increase). Though, having graduated as a student in US, I totally agree to the point of asking students to join stating that GC is the final step in achieving their American Dream, where IV can make considerable impact.
I think the administrators should particulary keep a close watch on such posts related to OPT/H1 issues. These posts might be incorrectly interpreted and lead to deviatons from IV's cores agenda issues as well as division of resources. Unless, IV administrators are seriously thinking of changing their ideology and are willing to walk this path.
Nevertheless, I will keep on supporting IV with all my possible efforts. Cheers and Go IV!

Received an email on friday, Card production rdered for the EADs for both of us.
Received RN for EAD and AP for all three of us. (NO EAD for son :) as did not apply) yesterday

This rep is pretty much saying what i said in my previous posting. But don't rely too much on what any rep says....call again and u will get a different unrelated reasoning that will confuse the hell out of u....:)

My husband's case was transferred from CSC to TSC. We haven't received the FP notice yet. USCIS status "The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office". when we called customer service cust service rep informed that we need to wait 180 days after the transfer for FP

SDL is rarely used by itself. Just use it for windowing and let OpenGL render (it's much faster). Also you'll notice that SDL can't rotate an image (or it couldn't 2 years ago). There are free OpenGL GUI's like CEGUI if you need one. I'd learn how to get the basic stuff.
Make sure you know the STL completely. This means, std::vector, std::list, and std::map kind of stuff. I'd recommend learning the OOP paradigm since it helps a lot.

Learn how to set up object class with an x and y pos and then create a manager class that allows you to insert them into a list or vector container. Hi All,
If we can get one thing fixed, it should be about adding another step before 485, i.e. people should be able to apply for 485 without the priority date getting current/get EAD so we can move to different companies. At-least it clears lot of head-aches for me. I know that I am dreaming, but hey... that's all I got.

I am due for an EAD renewal. However, my I-485 Receipt Notice got lost in mail. :(
Can I still e-file. A lot of you said, we have to send a copy of the receipt notice as a supporting document. Can I do without it.

Copy of your biometrics notice is enough in case of missing 485 receipt notices. And USCIS should be able to verify pending 485 with the A#.

You can file a small claim in the county your employer is based at for not paying you your salary. That way, the document becomes a public record. If in future anyone wants to see if there were any lawsuits filed against your employer, it'll show up.
The small claim trials are also held rather quickly, like within 30-45 days from the day you file. The filing fees are usually minimal. It depends on your county. Usually those are also recoverable, along with the time you spent on filing it.
I guess I am stressing this since these cases are public records and a copy is sent to the libraries of high court/supreme court here.
