I need a Firewire/IEEE 1394 cable, 6-pin to 6-pin. Doesn't matter what brand.
Let me know if you have one you're willing to sell. I need one pretty soon.
Thanks!

You don't pay for updates, Tweetie 1 had 7 free updates. Updates within the 2.0 version number will also be free. Same as EVERY piece of software for the desktop.
exactly - people don't realize this yet with iphone apps because it's still relatively new and most apps get minor updates for free - very few have done a complete version revision of their software. probably over the next year, this will become more common and people will figure this out and quite whining.
but then again...people love to complain...but over $3 - seriously come on people...

Drop him now, and quit whoring yourself. He will continue to abuse you for pennies because that's how he flies, and you're letting him.
Check around at what other degreed or professional designers charge.
You are too low by a factor of a number I might run out of zeroes writing down.
I am brutally honest because i was there.
Hi. No worries. I appreciate the honesty. Berating psycho clients get me hot under the collar, but constructive criticism from fellow designers is always welcome :D

Where does he say that he does not like the Financial Time? The point is, he does not like that the Financial Times sells the address to junk mailers, and I also must agree with it. Unfortunately there is these day not too much choice since you often don't know who is putting you on those lists - I found out about some due to typos in my unusual name that they had made in my subscriptions and I got junk in the good old paper mail to the 'wrong' name. But usually you don't know who sells your name and it is good if you have an option where you don't you are not put on stupid paper wasting junk lists. - FT does not need my name and/or address.
You can opt out, see post 29 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=12323740&postcount=29).

I got a weird bug. Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.
Same here, happens all the time to me now.
Glad to know I'm not alone!

I think in order to create new cutting edge products every company has to violate some patents of others (due to stupidity of the patent system they companies can patent almost everything). The origins of the patent system were a good idea to protect really new innovations but it got abused by too many companies and people who approve probably cant distinguish new original ideas from common sense ideas. That makes it hard for companies to enforce their original ideas since they can get counter suit with trivial patents (I'm not saying this is the case here - but that is the general problem).
Apple probably knew they are getting sued in return and took that into account by weighing the severity of violations (in their point of view). Probably it will end in out of court settlement - so I'm not sure what it is good for except making everyone aware that companies borrow ideas from each other ...
One of the patents:
Mobile telephone capable of displaying world time and method for controlling the same
An apparatus and method for calculating and displaying local time for a plurality of cities in the world. The apparatus includes a memory for storing Greenwich mean time (GMT) information for each of the plurality of cities. The apparatus sets a reference time and counts the time that elapses from when the reference time is set. The apparatus calculates a local time of a city selected by a user, which is based on a difference between the GMT of the selected city and the GMT of a present location of the apparatus, the reference time and the counted elapsed time. The reference time may be either a time set by the user or a system time acquired from a signal generated from a remote system.
How can companies get patents for such trivial algorithms???
Does this mean we can blame Samsung for the alarm clock bug whenever the summer/winter time change happens?

He doesn't need to actually drive that trip to be skeptical of your claim of a thousand miles on a tank of gas. Frankly, I'm skeptical of it too.
Okay, but you're claiming double that. Not 10% more or 20% more - double.
No. I'm claiming I got to Phoenix on half a tank of gas which is entirely doable and possible, if you know how to drive properly on freeways. Lead foots won't pull it off. Just because I got there with half a tank to spare after 500 miles does not automatically equate to 1000 on a full tank. Again, you people need to stop riding the numbers. It's not that simple.
After I got to Phoenix it was all city streets. The remainder of the gas burned out rather quickly. I'd say I was able to do a total of about 600 miles when it was all said and done. Again, the car is not burning gas if you're not pressing the accelerator. If the car is already going 80 MPH on a stretch, there's little need to press the accelerator constantly. All you have to do is tap it every so often to keep the car's momentum going, but in the meantime you're still traveling 80 MPH. You might only burn a quarter's worth of gas if you know how to not ride the accelerator.
Point being - it CAN be done, so don't tell me the Altima is less efficient than the Versa.

All I want is a little scale in the corner. Is that too much to ask? It's impossible to figure out how far away things are visually. In the heat of navigation (especially via car) time is of the essence and having to re-calculate the route just to figure out the distance to destination from the current location takes too long.

All the fun arcade games were 2 player games. If the iCade had one more arcade stick for 2 player gaming (and also usable for dual analog shooters like NOVA2, Modern Combat 2, and Nazi Zombies), it would be perfect.
Leaving out a second arcade stick was a mistake. You can't even play 2 player pong without a second stick.

Your apparent eagerness to lay blame on the victim is bizarre and highly questionable.
I'm not blaming woman for being raped, don't get me wrong. In fact i know that a lot of times it doesn't matter what the attire is.
I'm just saying that it increases your chances of getting raped if you're wearing inviting gear. (If the rapist has a sexual desire [that's what i'm talking about])
It's like showing off your Rolex watch while walking by a dangerous area known for robbery and crime.
Should you be robbed? No. But mother always said not to walk around showing off your latest bling in dangerous places. That's the point i meant to make, rape is horrible and a disgusting crime. Don't get me wrong, i don't blame the victim.
Why is dressing provocatively stupid? That's one of the many freedoms women enjoy in the western world, and i enjoy looking at them dressed that way. But I'm not gonna go and rape them. What you're saying confirms Muslim countries justification for sharia law. And I also find it insulting to males, because it says that if a women dresses provocatively then we have no self control and will rape them.
Good for you. You're right, it's a free country, and I love it for being so. I like to keep hold of my morals and I enjoy women who have values, dignity and self respect.
A woman dressing provocatively heightens the chances of assault, that's all i'm saying. I'm not saying that men should rape women who dress provocatively, don't get me wrong.
If you don't think that women who dress provocatively get more attention from men, then it's pointless to continue the discussion.
Sharia Law is just some stupid extremist ideology, i'm not even going to go there.
Good for you to have control, it's not only about controlling themselves, some are stalking women in inviting circumstances. I've seen it myself.
The point is that you have a reasonable expectation of safety regardless of decisions.
Placing more and more responsibility on the victims is a slippery slope.
Today its "don't walk down that street" tomorrow its "what were you doing outside without your gun and bullet proof vest".
No matter the poor nature of one's decision they do not deserve to be raped or murdered. And responsibility for the event belongs solely to the perpetrator.
Agreed. I never said it was, and i never will, rape is absolutely terrible. I understand that a person has a reasonable expectation of safety, I'm just saying that wearing provocative outfit will increase the chances of assault. Is that right? No, but i've seen it myself along with some of my friends victimized numerous times.
It's sad how the world works.
I think the difference is that there are certain situations where i feel that both parties are at fault for the concluding action that was taken place.
For example, if a woman decides to wear provocative clothing and acts accordingly at a bar and then gets assaulted by a drunk man, which afterwards she claims as rape, then i'll be looking into both parties.
Nobody deserves to get raped or murdered, i'm not saying anything like that.

We’re an engineering-driven company. When people accuse us of things, the first thing we want to do is find out the truth. That took a certain amount of time to track all of these things down. And the accusations were coming day by day. By the time we had figured this all out, it took a few days.
As someone who has to track down things like this constantly, I'm pretty unimpressed at the (lack of) speed of their code checking. This was not an obscure bug or complicated. It was just a too-large buffer definition and an execution path that always downloaded info.
And people think Apple can check binary app store submissions for bugs or trojans in just a few minutes, when they can't even find their own bugs in a few days with commented source code.
Then writing it up and trying to make it intelligible when this is a very high-tech topic took a few days.
Again unimpressed. There've been accurate explanations posted here before Apple spoke up, that took just minutes to compose.
And here we are less than a week later.
Although I've defended Apple over and over again on this topic, this just smacks of hoping it would blow over.
The right thing to do would've been to immediately say a week ago, "we're looking into it".
