Got notice today from CSC stating below
we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our LINCOLN, NE location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. finally status for EAD and AP changed to " documents mailed".
But yesterday i received a letter from USCIS related to the fax I did before.
and as per that letter, my request to expedite my EAD and AP is not valid(?????????????) so they sent my fax back (print out). I really dont understand this!!!!!!!!!!
waiting for EAD & AP hopefully I will get it tomorrow.

However if you also apply for EAD, then maybe you have to join the ex employer who files your 485 at least during the intial 180 days after 485 is filed, please do check with your lawyer.
Not really as GC is for future job; if 180 days have past you are ok even to change your intent even if you never worked for the first employer.

I have a similar situation and am going to the local office on friday.
Did you get the AP? Did they ask more specific questions about the illness and why it is urgent etc. I am still trying to get the letter and am trying to find out what should be included on it. Also, was your letter faxed or scanned or did you get the original.

I actually went to my appoitnment this morning at my local uscis office, the lady was nice. but i was told that the hospital letter need to state what are my granma's sickness instead just sayong terminally ill. and she had me to go back with a new letter tomorrow, and if her supervisor approves it, I will get it right away.

Now I want to renew it myself - Should I fill an additional form (G - something for changing representation)

I understand if G-28 forms are not sent, then all correspondence will sent to me which is good. But my concern is what if my lawyer signs the forms as a representative and not sending G-28 forms to represent the case.
This is the process which i have gone through:
1. My lawyer sent the questionnaire forms for 485/131/765. I filled the forms with my personal information and sent them to him online.
2. He made the necessary corrections and filled some gaps and sent them back to me for my signature. At the end of each form his name and address is printed as a representative of my case. He asked me to send all the forms signed along with reqd. documents.
when his name and adddress is printed and he signs the forms, then it shows he is representing the case. Then he has to send G-28 forms for each form I guess. If he didn't signed the forms as a representative then I guess all correspondence comes to me but my concern if he signs the forms but not sending G-28 for each form, then I guess I am in trouble for not sending G-28 forms...am I thinking correctly...suggestions plz...
My lawyer is not that responsive. He always says(pretends) that he is busy(not sure though)..I send an email but no response yet. If really G-28 forms required and if he sends the packet without them, then as per USCIS my application will be rejected right away. No time to reapply also.

the answer is no if principal applicant still maintains H1B and the person in H4 not using EAD to work.
If prinicipal applicant changes uses EAD then the dependent H4 visa is no longer valid.
It is better to carry all the immigration papers while you travel. you might not know when you will need those. I always suggest that any person while travelling or at POE (port of entry) should have original EAD+AP (if they have or atleast receipt notices), H4 documents,etc. eventhough they need it or not (or using it or not). it is better to have.
I heard BUT NOT SURE ABOUT THE FOLLWOING, PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR IMMIGRATION ATTRONEY, that if principal applicant is in H1B and if H4 person uses EAD for sometime and then went out of US and came back and at POE uses H4 visa stamping to enter US instead of AP then that person will be in H4 visa (it is not cancelled as the principal applicant is still in H1B) and they can convert again to EAD anytime later. Can anyone have any knowledge/experience about this?

For FY2010 it was ~ 10K and it was mentioned some time back on USCIS website that the spillover for FY2011 may be similar. But I guess we won't know until an official announcement is made.

Moving to another employer and keeping 485 alive is only theoretical option to you.
In reality and practical terms your plan is fraught with risks and is probably not worth it.
If your situation isn't dire and current employer is paying on time and this next employer is not "once in a life-time" type of opportunity.. STAY!
