My opinion:
Well, can the Java Programmer walk the ramp and pull it off like a professional model? Their work is a lot harder than it appears on the outside taking into account the success rate among models. Considering that even school kids can write excellent java programs, if we still want to consider the Java programmer as "highly skilled", then so are models.
Giselle Bundchen is worth half a billion dollars or somewhere in that range.
Btw, I am in the programming line myself in case someone thinks I have a problem with programmers. But I wouldn't mind swapping places with a successful model ;)

It depends on if you filed the application yourself or thru lawyer authorizing them with a G28
- if thru lawyer they will receive all receipts except EAD cards which comes directly to ur home address. In that case you will be safe because the receipts and EAD cards will be easily spaced out by atleast 6o days.(receipt coming first). So then you can update address with USCIS by phone + AR11 so that EAD comes safely to new address
- if not thru lawyer then receipts will come to address specified which might be your old address. USPS redirection does not work
- you can try these things
- approach postal office and check if you can buy a PO box and deposit all mail coming at old adress there and collect it weekly once.
Hold mail for next x days (whatever maximum)..and renew it once x expires..
also clearly check with them if the govt notifications which do not redirect will be held or PO'ed.
these are just my suggestions. not sure that it will work. but if you try any please post your experiences too

What is the fastest and perhaps a little economic way to get documents over to chennai (Tamil Nadu) or Calicut (Kerala) from here in San Jose, ca.
USPS has this service called Express Mail ($27.95) or Priority Mail ($12.95)

I like many others got a PERM labor & got 140 based on PERM labor.
Recenty , I applied 485 (based on this 140 )in this mad rush
Meanwhile, I have also received Labor approval ( from the same employer) from backlog center with an EARLIER PD .
The question is ..... Can I change the PD based on EARLIER PD after I have filed 485 ?????
I am sure many of us double PDs & might need to find an answer to this ?

I fully think that if IV is serious for the dignity of its members and wants this not to happen again, then the person should be revealed and banned. I know this has happened in the past also but not taking this kind of action has given courage to such kind of people to attempt it again.

During my 2nd H1B stamping, I also faced the same situation in New Delhi consulate. I got 221g and the visa officer told me that my application need some adminstrative approval from DC and it will take 3-4 weeks. Those 4 weeks were painful. My whole vacation was runied. Anyway after 4 weeks I got a call from the Embassy and got stamped next day.
But one of friend faced the same problem in New Delhi last year. For him, it took 6 months to get the name check done....So be prepared man...I am so sorry that you have to go through this...I can feel the pain...Now I am really scared to go for my next stamping as my visa has expired and I missed the July bus ....so I do not habe AP...:(((

Hi,
I have issue with I-94 as visa office at LA - LAX port of entry put a date in I-94 as same as in visa stamp in passport and not the date in the I-797 (extended H1B approval notice), I realised it 2months after the I-94 expiry, means while I was moved to Bay Area in CA, so I took infopass appointment from uscis.gov site for San Francisco office, went there and explained the matter to the visa officer, they corrected the error and issued me new I-94 with the date in I-797, you can also try the same, I think your issue will be fixed.

How about this scenario..
I invoked AC21 and changed job using my EAD. Now my new employer applied for my EAD and AP renewal. I got the approval for the renewal today....does that mean USCIS is ok with my application (AC21) or they will verify it at the time of 485 adjudication?

I have few colleagues that got only 1 (one) RFE for their I-485 such as birth certificate, one got missed physician signature on one document, the other got no RFE and the green card did just appeared. How I wish I could have an RFE similar with these or nothing at all.

Hello,
I came here as F1 visa but I'm out of stutus now. Here is some background:
I came here in september 2006 as F1 visa. I took 2 english quaters at the university then tranfer to another school in april 2007 ( Let calls them MSU). MSU gave me I 20 and it expried on March 2010. But due to financial problem, I did not register class at MSU after april 2007 so I was out of status. After that, I started register class at MSU in september 2008 and stoped in april 2009. I did not register any class after april 2009. I talked to my advicesor and she said, since I have been in school on and off so no matter that i went back to school some, I still out of stutus.
I have been my boyfriend for almost 3 years now and we want to get married ( He is an US citizen). I really dont know if i will get trouble because of my stutus or where to start? like what files do we have to fill, etc....
Any advice would be appreciate! Thank you so much for your time!

I was on H1B, recently got laid off (last week of February, 2009) --Since my wife is on H1B also, I changed my status to H4, which got approved a week back (3rd wk of April, 2009)...Now I've gotten to a point where I will soon be getting an offer from a company..
Can I start working, once they file for H4 to H1B transfer? or Does it have to be approved in order for me to start working?
It has to be approved before you can start to work. You can go with premium processing so its approved within a couple of weeks.

with employer B can I count that year before they filed for labor that I was under H-1b or I cannot count any experience gain before the labor was filed with employer B at all? I think that is the key question here.
You cannot count any experience gained with employer B unless it was gained while working in a different (substantially dissimilar) job.
